PT Bank Lippo Tbk ( “LB”), major investment company Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Malaysia, believes in the development of human capital in the Republic of Indonesia. In this regard, LB is pleased to scholarships and financial aid to deserving Indonesian students who intend to pursue their tertiary education in selected universities in Indonesia.

Thus, LB invites applications from high school graduates who wish to pursue bachelor program in the specialty areas of trade, finance, economic, accounting, computer sciences, mathematics, statistics and law.

The scholarship grant will be based on the merits of the applicant, including academic classes and school extracurricular activities. However, in order to provide opportunities for those who could face difficulties in financing their higher education, special attention will be given to applications from students who come from disadvantaged families financially.

I. Requirements:
LB Scholarship Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
(I) must be Indonesian citizens;
(Ii) should complete the application form;
(iii) grade point average to the National average result and points for the secondary school exam result should be 8.00 or higher;
(iv) should be able to prove that they are from disadvantaged families financially, showing an official letter from poverty, from local authorities and home electricity bill;
(c) do not currently receive any scholarship or other equivalent award;
(Vi) English;
(vii) must comply with all rules and regulations imposed by LB in connection with the programme of scholarships;
(viii) Accepted applicants must be willing to participate in any LB programmes and activities, such as the internship program at LB or any of its subsidiaries;
(x) Scholarship recipients are prohibited to work during the entire period of study.

The KAUST Discovery Scholarship is a general scholarship program King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). This program is designed to ensure that any very talented students who had reason and the right to enroll in a KAUST will receive full financial support, while at university. Those who receive scholarships Discovery receive the full support of learning, living stipend, a summer enrichment programs and career. KAUST will offer Discovery Scholarships to all KAUST students – an exceptional level of support intended to attract gifted and talented students from Saudi Arabia and from other countries around the world. The European Commission has launched a call to fund scholarships for the study of MA programmes in European integration. The scholarship of the European Commission covers up to €20,000 per student per academic year to cover fees and subsistence costs. For details on the scholarship, see this link. The UCD School of Politics and International Relations at University College Dublin invites applications to its MA in European Studies from citizens of European Neighbourhood Policy countries or Russia, who possess a first academic degree in either the social sciences or humanities (BA), and are in command of the English language. Applications are invited for a 3.5 year PhD scholarship, funded by an EPSRC Mathematics CASE award in conjunction with Simul8. The aim of this research is to apply new methods from multivariate statistics and decision theory to support analysis of parameter uncertainty and parameter quantification in Discrete Event Simulation (DES). DES is concerned with developing complex stochastic models and obtaining inference on the influence that several input parameters have on specified performance measures through Monte Carlo simulation. Specifically this project will investigate the use of Empirical Bayesian methods which can use data from existing simulation runs at different input parameter settings to estimate the variability of output measures as input parameter settings are changed. The department of Management Science is an energetic research active department with interests that cover a wide spectrum of interdisciplinary applied operational research. The Apprentice Ecologist Initiative Scholarship is open to young people interested in the environment. The initiative seeks to elevate young people (including disadvantaged and at-risk youth) into leadership roles by engaging them in environmental cleanup projects, empower volunteers to rebuild the environmental and social well-being of our communities, and improve local living conditions for both citizens and wildlife. A $500 scholarship will be awarded annually to the author of the top Apprentice Ecologist essay. Applications are invited for a funded three-year PhD Studentship position with the Research Institute for Networks and Communications Engineering (RINCE), Dublin City University, Ireland. Applicants should hold a higher honours degree in engineering, computer science or mathematics, be self-motivated and have a strong enthusiasm for pursuing new knowledge and solving problems in the general areas of mathematical modelling and optimisation of optical switching networks. Their research programme, leading to the degree of PhD, will focus on investigating, developing and validating mathematical methods for guaranteeing cost/performance levels in Optical Burst Switched networks through use of analytic network resource modelling, multi-objective non-linear optimisation techniques and design and implementation of discrete-event simulations. The closing date for applications is July 31st 2008 and the position will commence in autumn 2008.
