SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INDONESIAN CITIZENS

The Government of Italy offers scholarships to Indonesian citizens wishing to pursue their studies in Italy. The selection is held annually by a Selection Committee consisting of competent authorities and expert representing both Italy and Indonesia. This Scholarship grants are distributed for students, professionals, teachers, and artists who meet the necessary requirements for enrollment in any Italian post-secondary institutions (universities, academies, conservatories, art restoration institutes, National School of Cinematography, research centers or laboratories, libraries, archives, museums and other national or nationally-recognized institutions), and who would like to attend specialization courses or to conduct research in specific fields. For Italian language study, the scholarships are awarded for specific programs which are held at the Universities for Foreigners in Perugia, Siena and Roma Tre or at the other recognized institutions (which are authorized to issue certification of Italian as a second language).

The short-term scholarships are distributed in the range period between one to nine months and are reserved primarily for courses in Italian language and culture. Applicants must possess a high school diploma at the time they apply and must be 35 years of age or younger (minimum maturity age is 18 years old for Indonesian citizen).

Italian language and culture courses of a one-month period are reserved for Italian language teachers to whom no age limit applies, and for 3rd year University students in the Italian Studies Department.

The long-term scholarships consist of a nine – to twelve-month period, (depending on the length of the course) beginning in autumn. They are awarded for specific research or specialized courses at public post-secondary institutions in any area of study, except for medical studies. All courses of study must be undertaken at the Government approved educational institutions. Applicants for the long-term scholarships interested in undergraduate research or study must possess a high school diploma entitling the applicant to enroll in university; for those wishing to study or conduct research at the post-graduate level, the minimum requirement is a Master’s degree. Applicants must be 35 years of age or younger (minimum maturity age in Indonesia is 18 years old).

GENERAL INFORMATION

Elements taken into consideration by the Selection Committee are:

• The applicant’s curriculum studiorum and vitae.
• The applicant’s proposed program of study (for post-graduate, master courses and doctorate studies).
• The Reference letters from Indonesian or Italian academics (for post-graduate, master courses and doctorate studies).
• The existence of direct contacts between the candidate and Italian academics and/or institutes of higher learning in the candidate’s field of study (applies particularly to applicants for long-term scholarships).
• Knowledge of Italian is mandatory; unless the applicant is applying for Italian language courses or applying for an independent study (in this case the candidate must have a letter from a professor declaring willing to follow the student in another language).

Scholarships offered by the Italian Government cover standard living expenses such as boards and lodging expenses, Insurance( valid only in Italian Territory ) , and do not include air fares (return)

Please note that scholarship recipients must make their own travel and lodging arrangements.

Any partial or total exemption from university fees for scholarship recipients is the decision of the individual university/ institution; no exemptions are granted by private institutions.

Changes in the place of study or the starting date will not be permitted once the scholarship has been awarded. Applicants must therefore indicate the name of their chosen institution and the dates of the chosen existing course/s clearly and exactly on their application forms.

Invitation for Applications, Rockefeller Archive Center / ARNOVA, Fellowship for International Researchers The Rockefeller Archives Center and Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action [ARNOVA] invite applications for a first International Research Fellowship. The purpose of this fellowship is to encourage and provide support for attendance at ARNOVA’s Annual Conference, and research using the Rockefeller Archive Center [RAC], by scholars from outside the U.S. and Canada. The fellowship award will provide $4000 intended to cover the costs of travel to and attendance at the ARNOVA Conference, and to the RAC for a time of research at the Archives. Qualifications – Applicants must demonstrate that they have a scholarly research project that will benefit from attending the ARNOVA Conference and requires research at the Rockefeller Archive Center . They must also have a record of prior scholarship, which may be a thesis or dissertation. Applicants must contact the RAC at least one month prior to applying for the fellowship so that they can clearly identify in the application substantial archival materials that are related to their research project. (Note: Information about the RAC and its collections can be found at http://archive.rockefeller.edu. ) Expectations – Applicants must plan on attending the entire ARNOVA Conference. (Conference registration fees will be waived.) In addition, they must plan on spending at least three days at the RAC for the purpose of conducting their research. The fellowship is expected to cover the full costs of travel, lodging, meals and incidentals. (No supplemental funds will be available.) They must also be able to obtain a travel visa for the dates of the ARNOVA Conference (November 15-17, 2007) and time spent at RAC. Half of the award will be provided two months prior to the dates of the conference, with the balance to be paid at the completion of the conference and the time of research.

Road2Argentina, a study abroad organization, is now offering scholarships for our semester, volunteer, Spanish immersion, and internship programs. The Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) was launched in 1980 to promote and facilitate technical cooperation amongst developing countries based on the concept of self-reliance. The programme consolidates various forms of technical cooperation in areas where Malaysia has the experience and expertise. Terms and Conditions of Scholarship/ Fellowship awards under the Malaysian Technical Co-operation Programme (MTCP) 1. General Conditions of Award: Participants never participate in any MTCP or being awarded scholarship/ awards under the programme. Participants shall conduct themselves at all times in a manner compatible with their responsibilities as MTCP scholarship holders and abide by the laws, rules and regulations of the land and FOSEE, MMU. This scholarship can not be held concurrently with any other scholarship award. For lectures, participants are required to dress in long-sleeved shirts with ties, tailored pant and blazer or uniform. For formal occasions – suit, national costume or batiks. Ladies should be appropriately dressed in office attire. Participants shall follow the programme approved for them. Request for change of programme will not be entertained. Participants should participate in all activities related to the programme. Participants are not allowed to participate in any political and/or commercial activities in any capacity whatsoever. Participants shall not take up paid employment during the tenure of their scholarship or serve on the staff of their Official Representatives in Malaysia. Participants are NOT allowed to bring along their spouses or families for the duration of the course. Participants will be required to return to their own countries upon completion of the course or at the end of the tenure of the scholarship whichever is earlier. The award may be terminated at any time for the reasons of unsatisfactory conduct, breaches of the conditions of the award, or failure to make satisfactory progress. 2. Travel Documents and Vaccination: Persons seeking to enter Malaysia must be in possession of valid passports or other internationally recognized travel documents endorsed for travel to Malaysia. Such passports or other travel documents must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the period of stay allowed in Malaysia. In the case of a national passport not recognized by Malaysia, the holder must be in possession of a document in lieu of a passport obtained at the nearest Malaysian Mission abroad. Travelers from certain countries are required to produce the Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate and other health certificates at the entry point in Malaysia.. 3. Terms and Condition Covered by the MTCP for International Participants: Fares A return air ticket on economy class is provided. This is from the capital city of the recipient country to Kuala Lumpur and back. Expenditures such as Visa and transit fees, excess baggage fees are borne by the recipients. Maintenance Allowance Full board and accommodation Daily subsistence allowance will be given if food and accommodation are not made available, especially during attachment or study-tour, other similar arrangements will be made. Tuition Fees Tuition fees will be borne by the Malaysian Government under the MTCP. Medical Treatment Expenses for medical treatment in government hospitals/clinics will be borne by the Government of Malaysia if participants fell sick during the course. In case of admission of government hospitals will be eligible for First Class Wards (two bedded or more). Created in honor of the Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy’s founding director, the Joel L. Fleishman Civil Society Fellows Program provides a select group of leaders from nonprofit organizations, international NGOs, foundations, government, socially responsible businesses, and other civil society groups with the opportunity to spend a four-week residential sabbatical at Duke University’s Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy. While at Duke, Fellows perform research and work with Institute faculty and other Duke affiliates on issues related to the development of civil society. Applicants are selected based upon their proposed research topic and how they intend to utilize Duke’s resources to benefit their professional work in society. The ideal StuNed candidate is strongly committed to the development of Indonesia; possesses proven leadership qualities; is strongly committed to the eradication of corruption and other bad governance practices; and can justify how the scholarship contributes to the development of his/her organisation. StuNed offers scholarships to follow master courses, short courses or customized training programmes. In general the eligibility of a course depends on the relevance for the development of Indonesia. The motivation for the study choice is an important factor in the assessment of the application. What is StuNed? StuNed, Studeren in Nederland, is a scholarship programme that aims to contribute to the development of Indonesia through strengthening the human resources of Indonesian organisations. Each year some 150-200 full scholarships are offered for professionals to follow master programmes, short courses or tailor made training, all conducted in the English language. Graduates commit themselves to return to Indonesia immediately after graduation and to be actively involved in the development. The StuNed programme is subject to the Dutch policy for development co-operation which aims to achieve the UN Millennium Development goals in 2015. For Indonesia the bilateral programmes focus on generating and strengthening institutional capacity in development relevant sectors and theme’s such as: basic and higher education, ,HIV/ AIDS prevention, environment, water management and sanitation, trade, community based development, good governance & human rights, gender, and culture. Training needs can consist of existing master courses (including the Dutch part of a double degree programmes) and short courses or tailor made programmes. Tailor made programmes are defined as existing short courses of which the starting date, location and/or time frame is adjusted to the institutions requirements. Tailor made programmes can also consist of a selection of existing modules to comply with the specific needs of the requesting institution.
