[USA] Educational Exchange Program to Study in United States

COMMUNITY COLLEGE SUMMIT INITIATIVE PROGRAM

The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the Unites States Department of State is pleased to announce the Community Collage Summit Initiative Program. This new international educational exchange program enables individuals from Indonesia to study at a Community College in the United States to develop professional skills. Eligible fields are agriculture, Applied Engineering, Business Management and Administration, Health Professions, including Nursing, Information Technology, Media and Tourism and Hospitality Management.

To apply to the program candidates must:

  • Have completed a high school education and have a valid high school diploma.
  • Be currently employed or have relevant work experience in the field in which they are applying.
  • Have English language skill that provide a basis for enrolling in academic coursework following approximately 2 month of intensive English language study in the U.S
  • Submit a complete application (original one and two copies) and
  • Have an institutional or prediction TOEFL score of 500 or equivalent

LEE KONG CHIAN NUS-STANFORD DISTINGUISHED FELLOWSHIP ON SOUTHEAST ASIA The National University of Singapore (NUS) and Stanford University (Stanford) invite applications from mid-career and senior Southeast Asianist scholars in the social sciences or humanities who would like to spend up to six months between 1 April 2008 and 30 September 2008 at NUS and Stanford writing and doing research on or related to contemporary Southeast Asia. Candidates may be of any nationality and reside in any country. Applicants should submit : a project statement (not to exceed three pages) that justifies and describes the writing and research envisaged during the fellowship; a schedule of preferred locations and dates including time in residence at each of the two campuses; a sample of previous English-language publication; a curriculum vitae; and full contact information for three references who are able, if asked, to evaluate the proposal and the candidate.

[USA] M.S. in Education Scholarship by Walden University
This Walden University Master’s Studies Scholarship covers the M.S. in Education program. It is available for new students who start their program in or after September 2007, and continuing students whose renewal financial aid award year begins in or after September 2007. This need-based scholarship offers $1,000 per financial aid award year. It is offered first-come, first-served so long as funds are available. It is renewable so long as funds are available and you continue to meet the eligibility criteria. [USA] 2008-2009 IBM Herman Goldstine Memorial Postdoctoral Fellowship
The Mathematical Sciences Department of the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center invites applications for its 2008-2009 Herman Goldstine Memorial Postdoctoral Fellowship for research in mathematical and computer sciences. Areas of active research in the department include: algorithms, data mining, dynamical systems and differential equations, high-performance computing, numerical analysis, optimization, probability theory, statistics, and supply-chain and operations management. Fellows interact closely with department members but are free pursue their own research. Candidates must have a Ph.D. after September 2003 or should receive one before the second half of 2008. One fellowship will be awarded with a stipend between $95,000 and $115,000 (depending on area and experience).

This initiative builds on current Program research in areas such as land use and greenhouse gas production, urban heat island mitigation, planning for natural disasters, megacities, planning and public health, and green industrial restructuring. Prospective planning Ph.D. students with an interest in climate change research are encouraged to apply for one or more three-year assistantships, which include full tuition and a monthly stipend. Georgia Tech is an international leader in the realm of climate change research, and the City and Regional Planning Program builds on this institutional strength through its faculty and its two associated research centers: the Center for Geographic Information Systems and the Center for Quality Growth and Regional Development. Note: Applicants with Bachelor’s degree are only eligible if they are applying in a field different from the field of their degree. Applicants with MA or PhD degrees are not eligible to participate.
